KAU AREA
South of
Kona approx 25-30 miles,
a quiet undeveloped area
for the most part. Quite
a distance from Kona, or
from Hilo
has kept this area the quietest in terms of population growth and economic
growth. If you are looking for the undeveloped get away from it all spot.
This could be for you. Most of the property available, however, is in a huge
subdivision (Hawaiian Ocean View Est) which is bulldozed old lava fields
for the most part, which does not have the greatest appeal. Other then this
area, the property and homes on the market are limited, hence, even though
far away from it all, prices are generally higher then Puna area.
